Olivia Cata

Programs Director
William J. Harrington and Global Observership Medical Programs

Olivia Cata is a University of Miami alumna and long-time member of the International Medicine Institute team. Olivia has worked for the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine for over 33 years, leading process efficiencies and programs. As Programs Director for the William J. Harrington Medical Training Programs, Ms. Cata oversees the coordination of multiple aspects of delivering training programs for highly selected physicians and students from Latin America and the Caribbean, liaising with academic institutions, educators, applicants and medical centers that request these Programs. Her purview includes the Residency Program in Internal Medicine, and the Elective Observership Program for Latin American Physicians and the Medical Student Program, as well as the Global Observership for Physicians. In past roles with UM, she spearheaded international conferences, providing continuing education to thousands of physicians from across the world through her work as Assistant Director of Postgraduate Courses in Continuing Medical Education for the Department of Medicine. As co-coordinator of the Harvard Medical School/University of Miami CME Conferences “Current Clinical Issues in Primary Care” (Pri-Med), Olivia oversaw all aspects from lecture programming to event logistics, and she was also instrumental in making the Pri-Med courses available globally.
